Victorinox

VICTORINOX now a direct supplier to STAG

The origins of Victorinox date back to 1884, when Karl Elsener opened a knifemaking workshop in a village in central Switzerland. Elsener delivered his first soldier’s knife to the Swiss Army in 1891. Six years later, he created the Swiss Officer’s and Sports Knife – now known as the original Swiss Army Knife– which would lay the foundation for a thriving global company. Victorinox is now a fourth-generation family business operating in over 120 countries. In addition to its iconic pocketknives, Victorinox produces premium household and professional knives, watches, travel gear and fragrances. Victorinox products embody the brand and ensure consumers are best prepared for everyday challenges by offering smart and masterful solutions. The enterprising spirit of the founder and a commitment to strong, values-based corporate governance live on until today.

For over 30 years, Burton McCall (BMC) have been a valued and trusted distribution partner, playing a pivotal role in expanding Victorinox’s reach across the UK in all product categories. Their strategic efforts have enhanced the brand’s positioning and visibility, while their successful leadership on key pro jects has helped to consistently reinforce Victorinox’s message of preparedness.

In recent years, in their ongoing commitment to enhance efficiency and better serve market needs, Victorinox and Burton McCall have collaboratively reviewed their operational structure in the UK. This has resulted in the decision to integrate the UK distribution for Swiss Army Knives, cutlery and watches into their UK sales organization, Victorinox UK Ltd. This change will harmonize the structure with the already existing travel gear business in the market.

From the 1st of September 2024, Victorinox UK Ltd will handle the UK distribution directly with its own employees on-site across all product categories. This change in their business structure comes from the defined needs of the market and is an amicable move forward with Burton McCall supporting Victorinox UK Ltd with the handover process.
